These ceramic pipe bowls were collected from the Hyatt Townsite in Anderson County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2007. Pipes like this are called figural or face pipes and were made in a mold. They both show a turbaned man with different styles of facial hair. Hyatt was established in 1856 and abandoned in the 1860s.
