These letters, spanning June-August 1886, are from the offices of the National Prison Association and other individuals regarding the National Prison Association's annual meeting to Kansas Governor John Martin. The National Prison Association wrote inviting the governor and his delegates to the meeting as well as explaining the goals and outcomes of the 1886 meeting. D. D. McGray and M. F. Knappenberger wrote asking for the appointment as delegate to the meeting. The National Prison Association meeting was held in Atlanta, Georgia from November 6th to 12th, 1886.
