This scrapbook represents Vada Watson Hoskinson's travels promoting Kansas wheat. A native of Turon, Kansas, Vada was selected as the state's first Wheat Queen through a contest sponsored by Kansas State University in 1925. During her reign she traveled throughout the United States promoting Kansas wheat. In 1928, she graduated from Sterling College and became an elementary school teacher in the Turon area. On January 5, 2000 she passed away at the age of ninety-four.
