A postcard showing the home of Vice-President Charles Curtis of Topeka, Kansas. At the 1928 Republican convention, with a popular stand on farm relief, Curtis was nominated as Herbert Hoover's vice presidential running mate. The team was elected to one term, 1929 to 1933. They were inaugurated March 4, 1929. This house was originally constructed for Topeka Mayor Joseph C. Wilson and was completed in 1878. Charles Curtis purchased the property in 1907. The house was Curtis' primary residence and official address until his death in 1936.
