This photograph of a painting shows Alfred Washburn Benson, (1843-1916). He was appointed justice to the Kansas Supreme Court serving from 1907-1915. During his career Benson was appointed as a United State Senator, 1906-1907. He also served as a judge of the fourth judicial district of Kansas, from 1885 to 1897.
