J.T. Lardner Cut Stone was established by J.T. Lardner in Topeka, Kansas in 1903. Eventually, it turned into a family company with his four children Charles, Jim, Joseph, and Susie.
After J.T's passing in 1965, the company's tradition continued. J.T. Lardner Cut Stone closed the business in 2025.
These six framed photographs show historic JT Lardner buildings and project construction.
One image shows the outside of a building (undated).
Two photographs were taken by Wolfe; one showing JT Cut Stone working on the State Capitol Building (1936) and the other showing a stone yard scene (undated).
One image taken by the Kansas Construction Magazine shows a group of people holding certificates. The man in the middle is probably JT Lardner holding the certificate in the following frame.
One frame holds a certificate of excellence awarded to JT Lardner (1957).
The final frame is a document (dated October 13, 1940) from the City of Topeka Department of Streets and Public Works office. The document details proposals for demolition and razed plans for the old city office building located at 7th and Quincy.
