Dated 1894, this diary belonged to Garland Peter Ferrell Senior, son of Lloyd B. Ferrell and Tarsy S. Ferrell. Born in 1879 in Wichita, Kansas, Garland Sr. served as the second head of the Ferrell Ranch (est. 1888) after a distinguished career as a journalist for the Boston and New York Heralds in Boston, Massachusetts and the Wichita Eagle in Wichita.
