A letter on March 21, 1877, from D. B. Long, confirms he has received the letter appointing him as Commissioner of Fisheries. A letter on November 19, 1877, from D. B. Long, encloses a letter to the Commanding Officer of the Department of Fisheries to use an empty house in Fort Harker. A letter on December 17, 1877, from G. W.
