Tin disk button with a glossed white paper face. "Votes For Women" refers to the decades-long struggle women underwent to secure the right to vote. Women in Kansas began campaigning for suffrage while men were writing the state constitution. Over the next fifty years, they continued to lobby, protest, and organize. In 1912, eight years before the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed, Kansas women secured the right to vote in all elections.
