This photograph shows the dedication of the Orphan's Home in Hillsboro, Kansas. Kansas Governor E.N. Morrill's visited the orphanage called Gnadenau Village, on October 6, 1896. The governor is third from the left on the third floor balcony. The orphan's home was also used as an Old People's Home and was later destroyed by fire. Other individuals are identified through information included during the accession of the item.
