Former Governor Robert B. Docking writes to Governor John Carlin and his wife, Karen, offering suggestions on the 1982 gubernatorial campaign. Governor Docking advised Governor Carlin to run radio advertisements on Wichita and western Kansas radio stations just before and during the Kansas State Fair in an effort to do well in the traditional "fair poll" of candidates running for governor. He also suggested running an advertisement in the Wichita Eagle-Beacon the Sunday before the election listing everyone from Sedgwick County who served in the Carlin Administration and thanking them for their service. The letter includes Governor Carlin's handwritten annotations.
