This pamphlet was written by the "Middle-Of-The-Road Populist State Committee." J. F. Willits was chairman and Abe Steinberger was the secretary of this committee. They contend that they are the true Populists and that J. W. Breidenthal is a man the Populists can no longer trust. They base their argument on how Breidenthal treated Tom Watson when he visited Kansas in 1896. Watson, from Georgia, was running for vice president of the United States on the Populist ticket and the Populists were supporting William Jennings Bryan, who was nominated by the Democrats, for president. Breidenthal was associated with both the Democrats and the Populists.
