Harold Winsinger is shown with the new IBM AS/400 host computer at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas. Menninger is a leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to treating individuals with mood, personality, anxiety and addictive disorders, teaching mental health professionals and advancing mental healthcare through research. It was located in Topeka, Kansas, from 1925 to 2003 and is now in Houston, Texas.

Medicinal Bottle Fragment from the Baker House, 14MO701
Date: 1862
This broken bottle sherd was recovered from excavations at the Baker House in Morris County in 1972 at the Kansas State Teacher's College (now Emporia State University) archeological field school. The bottle likely once held medicine. The cork is still present in the neck, as is part of the lead or foil wrapper that once held the cork in place. The Baker House collection was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1993. The house and nearby store were burned in 1862 by "Bloody Bill" Anderson and his cohorts. The owner, A. I. Baker, was murdered at the same time.

Top O' The Morning film promotion, Topeka, Kansas

These two photographs from 1949 were taken in the lobby of Topeka's Grand Theater during a promotion for the film, 'Top O' The Morning,' starring Bing Crosby. An element in the film's storyline involved a recording made with Dictaphone's Time-Manager dictating machine. In the promotion, moviegoers were invited to send greetings to hospitalized veterans by recording their message with the Time-Manager. Modeling use of the equipment in the photo is Donna Coffman, a secretary with Thacher, Inc., the Topeka distributor for Dictaphone. With her is the district manager for Fox Midwest Theaters.
